Terms of service
Plain-language terms for posting music and show content, sharing neighborhood and venue location data, account behavior, and the Free vs Pro tier split. No surprises — the short version of every rule is on the FAQ page.
What Stoopnote is
Stoopnote is the feed for the music on your block — a chronological, non-algorithmic local feed of show listings, rehearsal pings, and open-mic calls, ordered by walking distance from where you are. It is a small, neighborhood-first product. The point is that the bar band two doors down beats a clip from an artist a thousand miles away, every time.
What you can post
Show flyers, rehearsal clips, collab pings, and venue-aware listings on your block. The rule is short: it lives on your block, so someone on the block is the one writing it. The free tier covers neighborhood posting, show listings, and collab pings — the feed is not a pay-to-play, and that will not change.
Neighborhood and venue data
When you post, you supply a neighborhood, a venue name, and a venue address. These three fields are used to place your post on the local feed and on the walk-friendly gig map. The neighborhood sets the walking-distance ordering — the kind of place you walk, bike, or ride transit to. Suburbs two counties over do not count.
Account behavior
No spam. No impersonation. No scraping the feed to rebuild an algorithm somewhere else. The feed is not a pay-to-play — paying for reach, fake follower counts, or paid promotion of individual posts is not allowed. Accounts are personal; one person, one account, writing about the things they actually do or see on their block.
Moderation and bans
We can set a banned flag, a banReason, and a banExpires date on a user account. Banned accounts cannot post until the ban expires or is lifted. The reason for a ban is shown to the affected account. Repeat offenses, off-block impersonation, and bulk scraping are the kinds of things that get accounts banned.
Free vs Pro
Free is for the local indie act — solo musicians, bands, fans hyping an open mic, bookers lining up a night, and the venue staff who actually run the room. Pro is for touring bands, small venues, and bookers who need booker analytics, venue profile pages, a higher media upload cap, and cross-city tour syncing. Pro billing goes through Stripe — Stoopnote never stores card data on its own servers.
Content you keep
You keep authorship of everything you post. By posting, you give Stoopnote a non-exclusive license to display the post in the local feed and on the gig map while it is live. Delete the post and the license ends with it — the post disappears from the feed, the map, and our storage.
Removing your content
You can delete any individual post from your account. For full account deletion — your profile, your posts, and your auth record — write to us and we will remove it within a reasonable window.
Changes to these terms
We will update this page as the product grows. The effective date at the bottom of the page is the most recent change. For material changes — anything that changes what we store, how we bill, or what counts as a rules violation — we will also email affected accounts.
