Privacy policy
What Stoopnote stores, how it is used, and what we do not do. The short version: no ad networks, no behavioral profiling, no third-party trackers.
What we store
Your account: an email address, a display name, and (optionally) a profile image and a role. Your password is stored as a one-way bcrypt hash — we cannot read it back. Your profile: a handle, a neighborhood, a role, and an optional bio. Your posts: a title, a start time, a venue name, a venue address, a neighborhood, a description, a post type (gig, rehearsal, or collab), an optional instrument, an optional contact handle, and an optional flyer image. If you joined the waitlist before signing up, your email address is stored there too. We do not store card data — Pro payments route through Stripe, which keeps the card on its side of the wall.
Why we store it
To sign you in. To run the local feed. To render your profile. To place your posts on the map by neighborhood. And, if you joined the waitlist, to write back when the feed opens in your area. Everything we store earns its place by making the product work — we are not building a profile graph on the side.
How it is used
The feed is chronological and ordered by walking distance. The gig map groups posts by neighborhood. Email is used only to send a waitlist invite or essential service notices (a banned-account notice, a deletion confirmation, a material change to these terms). No third-party ad networks. No behavioral profiling. No selling of data — there is nothing to sell.
Media uploads
Flyers live in storage tied to your account. They are linked to a specific post, and removing the post removes the flyer. Files are not shared with other users or used to train any external system.
Neighborhood digest (planned)
An optional email digest — once a week, the shows happening on your block — is a feature we may offer in a future release. Nothing in the product sends digest email today. When it ships, the digest will be opt-in and you can turn it off from your profile at any time.
Who can see your post
Anyone viewing the local feed or the gig map in your neighborhood. Posts are public to the app — that is the point of posting them. Your profile fields (handle, neighborhood, role, bio) are public. Your email address is not.
Account deletion
Write to us and we will remove your account, your profile, your auth record, and your posts. Removal happens within a reasonable window, after which none of it is recoverable from our side. Anything you posted that has already been copied off-platform stays where it was copied to — we cannot reach into someone else’s saved screenshot.
